It took a while, but it’s finally back!

After a longer-than-expected hiatus, our compilation has returned. It might have moved from SoundCloud to Mixcloud, but it's ready to be listened to and downloaded just like in the good old times by all Rhythm Passport newsletter subscribers.

Nearly two years since the last episode, we are thrilled to present a brand-new 11-track mix that promises to be a vibrant, summery selection showcasing some of the most exciting releases of 2024.

We start on the Caribbean and Pacific Coast of Colombia with a dancey, rhythmic cover of the 1982 classic by Eddy Grant, "Electric Avenue," by TribalMixtura, "inviting your corporal vibration to connect with the fire from within." Following this, De Mar Y Rio bring us "Bailen y Gocen", a powerful debut from a group dedicated to preserving and enhancing the Pacific Colombian musical heritage.

Then we move to La Reunion with Bonbon Vodou. Direct heirs to the fusions of Maloya rhythms, Oriane Lacaille and JereM Boucris create a sweet and sour musical treat in "Cérémonie du Piment Piment", blending French and Creole influences. From the United States via Mexico, we have Bocafloja with "Sol", delivering refined and soulful hip-hop.

Next, we travel to Italy for funk, jazz, and brass energy with Addict Ameba. Their sophomore album Caosmosi brings together desert-blues, afrobeat, and ethio-jazz, with psychedelia and funky vibes featuring Joshua Idehen on the track "Look at Us". Staying in Italy, Rhabdomantic Orchestra and Gianluca Petrella present "La Grandiosa", an imaginary film soundtrack blending reggaeton beats with cinematic sounds.

From Cyprus, Buzz’ Ayaz offers "Zali", a unique fusion of psychedelic rock and Eastern Mediterranean folk vibes. Meanwhile, Bab L' Bluz from Morocco delivers rowdy, psychedelic Gnawa blues with "IWAIWA FUNK". The desert sounds continue with Tarwa N-Tiniri, whose track "Illa Lkhir" is deeply rooted in Amazigh heritage.

Returning to Europe, Retimbrar featuring Suspiro from Portugal reimagines traditional Portuguese folk and folktales in "Do Mesmo Cordão". Finally, we finish in style with Savan from Colombia. His track "Búho" featuring the imaginative voice of Maitara is an organic downtempo piece inspired by the sounds of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
