The countdown has officially started… in two months’ time, the 2022 edition of Womex will get underway to spread the sounds, words and images of the world-music world throughout Lisbon.

After a thoroughly successful experience in Porto last year, the Worldwide Music Expo is indeed going to be back to Portugal this October, with five days of showcases and meetings, conferences and movie screenings, impromptu live sessions and DJ-sets.

From Wednesday 19th to Sunday 23rd, over 2,600 professionals will frolic in the streets, venues, theatres, cafes, restaurants and (first of all) conference centre of the Portuguese Capital to enjoy a very long, intense and juicy weekend of eclectic and quality music.

When it comes to WOMEX, numbers are always impressive because as well as the 260 artists (from more than 90 countries) who will be performing their music on the seven stages dedicated to the showcases programme,  also participating are around 700 exhibiting companies, 100+ speakers, dozens of filmmakers and documentarists presenting their works in another well-assorted, refined and inclusive programme.

Because of our “nature”, we wanted to focus our attention on those 260 artists presenting their work on Womex-centred playlists…

In addition, we are thrilled to re-launch our Musical Road to Womex section where we are going to introduce you, in an even more extensive way, to some of the protagonists of this edition’s showcases.
