Céline Dessberg, a French-Mongolian singer, songwriter, and harpist, has unveiled her latest single, “Selenge,” via That’s Love Records.
The instrumental track, inspired by a Mongolian river of the same name, showcases Dessberg’s mastery of the yatga (a traditional Mongolian harp), blending its melodies with neo-soul elements like smooth guitar tones and jazzy drum patterns.
Produced by Max Shrager, “Selenge” was recorded during a focused two-week session at Studio Zoe in New Jersey. This creative period also gave rise to Dessberg’s Hödöö EP, crafted alongside collaborators such as Sal Samano and Alex Garcia of Thee Sacred Souls.
“Selenge” is part of a 7″ release that features “Chintamani” on the B-side, which features Dessberg singing in Mongolian and evoking the Mongolian countryside. This release builds anticipation for her upcoming opening performance for Thee Sacred Souls at La Cigale in Paris on the 13th of February.
