Mah-Ze-Tar, the brainchild of vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Maz Karandish, has released “Light Smoke,” a hypnotic blend of Persian traditional music, hip-hop beats, and deep bass. Featuring the evocative sounds of the ney and oud, the track is built around Rumi’s poetry, creating a rich interplay between ancient and electronic musical elements.
Karandish, known for integrating Eastern classical traditions with contemporary electronic soundscapes, continues to evolve his vision of cultural preservation through fusion. Following past projects like “Liquid Lotus” and “Reeshe (Roots),” he is currently working on new EPs and collaborations with artists such as Balkan Bump, Akriza, and Nyrus.
