Kinshasa-based electronic music collective KOKOKO! has recently announced their upcoming album, BUTU, set to release on the 5th of July via Transgressive Records.

The LP features the lead single “Mokili,” which showcases the vibrant energy of Kinshasa’s nightlife through a fusion of dance punk and Congolese rhythms.

Despite facing challenges, including the loss of band members, KOKOKO! continues to explore themes of love, sorcery, and social issues in their music, reflecting the resilience and creativity of Kinshasa’s artistic community.
