Youthsayers, a South London-based youth music project and band, led by Robin Hopcraft and Idris Rahman from the Afro-reggae group Soothsayers, has released its debut single “We Keep Playing.”

The band, which began in 2016, offers free musical training and performance opportunities to young people. Profits from this single and the upcoming album, Don’t Blame The Youth, set for release in June via Wah Wah 45s, will fund further community initiatives.

The debut single, “We Keep Playing,” which features arrangements inspired by Jamaican musician Tommy McCook, was performed at the London Jazz Festival in November 2022.
