Superkoloritas open their new EP Ritmo! with “Žara, a sharp turn into emotional territory. Known for their sun-kissed blend of surf pop, tropical rhythms and retro synth textures, the Lithuanian duo, Giedrė Nalivaikaitė and Adomas Koreniukas, dive headfirst into the quiet ache of a breakup. “Žara” sets that emotion into motion, carried by gliding synths, echoing guitar lines, and lyrics that balance clarity with poetic weight, all delivered in their native Lithuanian.
While the sound draws on their signature palette, Italo disco grooves, hints of Latin warmth, psychedelia, and nods to 60s–80s Lithuanian pop, the mood here is more reflective. Adomas’s saxophone and harmonica add texture and memory, while Giedrė’s vocals cut through with directness and feeling. It’s a breakup song that never loses its sense of movement, shaped as much by rhythm as by sentiment.
As the first track on Ritmo!, “Žara” acts as a lens: it reframes the duo’s bright sonic world to show what happens when light bends around something heavier. It’s a breakup song that is rhythmically alive, melodically rich, and emotionally considered.
