Phoenix-based Afghan-American composer, instrumentalist, and producer Qais Essar releases his latest single “Liminal Time And Space” from his forthcoming album, Echoes of the Unseen, available on 11 October via the Australian label Worlds Within Worlds.

This album showcases Essar’s forward-looking approach to the rabab, exploring contemporary and bringing forward Afghan classical music. His work transcends traditional constraints, aiming to unveil the full potential of the rabab by blending deep-rooted musical traditions with new explorative compositions.

Echoes of the Unseen is Essar’s fourth full-length album and is inspired by the natural cycles of day and night. It features atmospheric ragas and field recordings that capture the essence of transitional periods such as dusk and dawn.
