Parranda La Cruz, blending African, Amerindian, and European influences, reimagines traditional Barlovento music with their modern take on “Quichimba.” Their fusion style invites listeners to experience “tamborterapia.”
Originating from Caracas, lead singer Rebecca Roger Cruz started the project in Lyon in 2018, alongside Margaux Delatour. While percussionists and singers Luc Moindranzé Karioudja and David Doris, from the Reunionese Ti’Kaniki collective, add a fresh maloya twist.
The group melds diverse cultural rhythms, evident in their latest self-titled album featuring Venezuelan talents Julio D’Santiago, Betsayda, and Nereida Machado, enhancing its vocal and percussive depth.
