“Libations: Omnyama” is the debut single from Nduduzo Makhathini‘s forthcoming LP, uNomkhubulwane, set for release via Blue Note Records.

Makhathini, a visionary South African pianist, composer, philosopher, and healer, presents uNomkhubulwane, as his eleventh studio album, launching on the 7th of June. This release follows his acclaimed works Modes of Communication: Letters From The Underworlds (2020) and In The Spirit Of Ntu (2022).

uNomkhubulwane is a three-movement suite paying homage to the Zulu Goddess and exploring themes of freedom and balance, featuring Makhathini in a trio with Zwelakhe-Duma Bell le Pere on bass and Francisco Mela on drums. The album blends spiritual jazz with traditional South African rhythms, creating an immersive, transcendent listening experience that invites audiences to explore complex emotional landscapes.
