Led by Geneva-based musician Alex Sumi, Los Hermanos del Alma has released “Rumbadub,” the latest single from their forthcoming album Oya, recorded entirely in Havana.
The track merges rumba percussions with elements of dub and electronic music, highlighted by a marimba loop and a deep bass line. Yassell Sotomayor’s vocals and Eduardo Bringuez’s distinctive trumpet solo add layers to the composition.
“Rumbadub” features a diverse ensemble of musicians from both local and European backgrounds, blending Afro-Cuban rhythms with electronic and dub influences. This collaboration underscores the band’s commitment to fusing African, Latin, Caribbean and European musical styles.
