InSen’s new single “Mali Fikom” merges Maghrebi and North African musical traditions with electronic production. Based in Lyon, the project is led by Mehdi Ghanem, who provides vocals and guitar, alongside Félix Giacomo Joubert on keyboard, synth bass, SPD, and percussions, and Magen Mooken on percussions.
The track reinterprets Tunisian sounds through synthesizers, blending traditional elements with electronica. Sung in Tunisian, “Mali Fikom” reflects on themes of identity and Ghanem’s connection to his homeland.
Drawing influence from Hasna el Becharia, Floating Points, malouf, and Ma’luf trance music, “Mali Fikom” emerges from Tunisia’s alternative scene as a contemporary exploration of regional music.
