Daily Discovery: Hit La Rosa x Novalima – Ave De Campo

Two of Peru’s most innovative musical projects, Hit La Rosa and Novalima, have joined forces on “Ave de Campo”, a richly textured single that fuses Afro-Peruvian rhythms with electronic production and psychedelic undertones. Recorded in Lima, the track offers the first glimpse of Hit La Rosa’s upcoming EP and marks a new phase in the band’s sonic journey.

Drawing on both groups’ shared interest in bridging tradition and innovation, “Ave de Campo” explores themes of grief and transformation through the image of a bird in search of flight. Vocalist Chaska Paucar delivers a poetic, introspective performance, while the production layers tribal percussion with atmospheric electronics.

Formed by Paucar, Rubén Guzmán, Alfredo Col, Darío De La Cuba and Martín Del Prado, Hit La Rosa has spent the past decade developing a psychedelic cumbia sound rooted in Amazonian traditions, gradually expanding into salsa, electronic and experimental territory. Recent tours across Mexico and Europe have further shaped their evolving identity.

Novalima, now in their 24th year, bring deep experience to the collaboration. Long celebrated for blending Afro-Peruvian music with global club and bass culture, their presence lends the track rhythmic depth and global resonance.

With “Ave de Campo”, both bands reaffirm their commitment to reimagining Latin fusion, not just blending genres, but creating something entirely their own.
