Gabriele Poso has been releasing music since 2008, through Yoruba Records, BBE, Soundway, Wonderwheel and Mr. Bongo. For his sixth album he started his own imprint, AG Records, and recorded Maraviglia live to tape with a full band in an analogue studio in southern Italy.
“Contigo Mi Vida” is the second single from the album, out on 19 June. Emanuele Coluccia leads on horns, moving between saxophone, flute and trumpet over Afro-Cuban percussion and a groove rooted in late-’70s Italian disco and Afrobeat. Poso’s vocals run effected and dubbed-out through it. Maraviglia also features Andrea Rossetti on piano, Fender Rhodes, Hammond and Moog, Davide Codazzo on bass, Antonio De Donno on drums and percussion and Alberto Zacà on guitar.
