Romanian brass ensemble Fanfare Ciocarlia has released “Me Sem Rom / I’m a Man,” a new single that merges their distinctive Balkan brass sound with rock and uptempo influences. Featuring vocalist Canaf, the release includes the original song “Me Sem Rom” (“I’m a Man” in Romani) and a dynamic cover of the 1967 Spencer Davis Group classic, reinvented with a wild Balkan ska twist.
Originating from the remote village of Zece Prajini in northeastern Romania, Fanfare Ciocarlia is renowned for their rapid-fire brass playing and electrifying performances. With over ten albums and more than 3,000 concerts globally, they have been instrumental in bringing Balkan brass music to international audiences.
Released on the 6th of September as a limited 7” vinyl and digital download via Asphalt Tango Records, you can listen to and get your copy of the single HERE
