Event Preview: Arsenal of Sounds #10 w/ London Lucumi Choir & Germa Adan (07/07/2023)

Join us on Friday, the 7th of July for an inspiring evening showcasing the vibrant cultures of Cuba and Haiti. As part of Arsenal of Sounds, our monthly music series at Woolwich Works, we present a unique double-bill featuring the London Lucumi Choir and Germa Adan.

The London Lucumi Choir and Germa Adan both embrace their Afro-Cuban and Afro-Haitian roots, which greatly influence their music. The London Lucumi Choir specialises in Afro-Cuban spiritual songs accompanied by traditional drums, while Germa Adan draws inspiration from Haitian, American, and English folk traditions to create her own distinctive sound.

Their performances not only entertain but also honour their cultural heritage. They celebrate the rich traditions of the Afro-Caribbean diaspora, highlighting the resilience and creativity of those who have preserved these traditions across generations and borders.

Mark your calendars for this unforgettable celebration of culture and music. It’s an opportunity to experience the captivating rhythms and melodies that define the Cuban and Haitian traditions.
