Formed four decades ago during a period of radical artistic activism, the ensemble’s rich diversity is reflected in their compositions, which weave tales of migration, freedom, and social justice. With roots spanning the globe, their music encompasses Indian ragas, Latin American salsa, Chinese melody, reggae basslines, and more.

Under the guidance of Tony Haynes, the Grand Union Orchestra has been a dynamic force in London’s music scene for over 40 years. On September 1st, they will deliver two unique sets at Woolwich Works, celebrating cultural diversity and inclusivity.
