This week Radio Mukambo is fully dedicated to British multi-instrumentalist and producer Nick Page aka “Dubulah”, founding member of Transglobal Underground, Temple of Sound and Dub Colossus, and producer of the project Syriana. After a long battle with illness in which he was victorious many times, he set flight for the ethio-dub cosmos on the 11th of May.
Dubulah first travelled to the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa in 2006 to collaborate with musicians and explore traditional Azmari styles, 60s Ethiopian pop, ethio-jazz and 70s Jamaican dub reggae. That’s how Dub Colossus was born, one of the most interesting cross-cultural collaborations of the past 20 years.
