Plenty of afrobeat on Radio Mukambo, with the London/Brighton based collective with a deep-shared love of Fela Kuti, Yamäya. Their debut album “Senegal” has influences from across the African continent including afrobeat, Mandinka griots and ethiopiques with modern tinges of dub, hip hop, soul and jazz. Our second album of the week, “Same Blood” by ERÍN Afrofunk, comes to us from Bologna, Italy.
We also have highlife by Mo’ Horizons feat. Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, Okwy Osadebe & Highlife Soundmakers International and a new compilation of the Guinean guitar legend Leon Keita.
We finish off with some hip-hop and raggamuffin.
