Tropical Pressure is in its sixth year of presenting global sounds in a mini WOMAD-in-the-making style, with family themes, vegetarian food, and stages set in a lovely field out of the hustle and bustle of the capital.
I decided it would be an amazing place to visit after seeing name after name of incredible London-based acts lined up, such as the Congolese jazz music of Kongo Dia Ntotila, whose new album is about to sky-rocket into success. Furthermore, the fantastic London-based, charismatic cumbia band Malphino take to the main stage on the Friday.
The Scorpios will be bringing their stunning performance of Sudanese ‘girls’ song’, originals and folk tunes, whilst Hejira will present their Afro-soul goodness.
So many fantastic bands that rarely play, all in one place, for a celebration of global grooves and funky folk. Fear not, the evening is set to come alive with epic electro DJs, such as Nickodemus and Anchorsong.
