The grand finale of this year’s K-Music Festival couldn’t go more ‘grand finale’ than this.
On Thursday the 24th of November, in the scenic setting of the Stone Nest (a stunning 19th century Grade II Listed deconsecrated chapel in Soho), Park Jiha will finally introduce the London audience to her latest release published in February via Glitterbeat Records.
Arguably, the most inspired of all Park Jiha’s works, The Gleam is an enlightening, almost transcendent album. It constantly seeks for rarefaction, slowing its tempo, dilating melodies and fully embracing minimalism. But at the same time, it is also very capable of enrapturing the listener intertwining sound layers and making full use of the of the expressive timbre of Korean traditional instruments like the yanggeum, saenghwang and piri.
Park Jiha’s performance at the Stone Nest is going to be the debut of her 8-leg The Gleam Euro Tour. In the next few months, the Seoul born and bred multi-instrumentalist will indeed bring and present her third solo LP around the continent. So, it goes without saying that you are in for a treat…
