In this Mukambo mix, we move between Colombia and Africa, with artists from the motherland and the diaspora. From Afro-Colombia hails the Diva of Pacific music Nidia Góngora, known for her work with Quantic and plenty of other outernational collaborations. Her first solo album Pacífico Maravilla is a delightful combination of her marvellous voice and afro-rhythms from the Pacific.

Also from Colombia, a unique collaboration between Bejuco and La Escuelita del Ritmo called Ritmo de Dos Mares, where the marimba and the congo drum meet in a deep and vibrant dialogue.

Healing Voices is full of spiritual afrojazz by the cosmically poetic duo Esinam (Belgium/Ghana) & Sibusile Xaba (South Africa) on their debut album Healing Voices.

And from the heart of the black continent comes Kin’Gongolo Kiniata, a vital new voice of Congolese music, offering a potent new take on Kinshasa-born rumba with handcrafted percussion from found street objects providing the band’s rhythmical power. Their debut album Kiniata is a call for peace, social justice and dignity for the Congolese people.
