Mark your calendars for Friday, the 4th of August, as Woolwich and Woolwich Works are set to go fully Latin with Arsenal of Sounds!
Our monthly double-bill series, featuring London-based musicians from around the globe and their music traditions, will take us on an adventure through South America.
Join us as we immerse ourselves in the captivating sounds and melodies from Peru, Uruguay, and beyond, presented by two vibrant acts that have been energetically enriching the London music scene – Imperio Bamba and Alex Etchart & Vientos.
With the show just a little over two weeks away, we couldn’t wait any longer to introduce you to the talented musicians who will be gracing our stage. First up, let us present Imperio Bamba.
Imperio Bamba, known for their unique ‘chichafrodelic’ sound, masterfully blends chicha, Afro-Peruvian, salsa, and electronic rhythms. They formed in 2016 to share immigrant stories and create a sense of community.
Their latest EP, Mis Cosas Favoritas displays their experimental sound and various styles. With powerful guitar riffs and captivating vocals, their motto is “find the place and space where your body and mind feel free,” reflecting their goal of creating an exciting and unifying musical experience.
