Event Preview: We Are Ukrainians: Three Years of Resilience @ The London Palladium (London; 24 February 2025)

On Monday, 24 February 2025, The London Palladium will host We Are Ukrainians: Three Years of Resilience, marking the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Organised by the Ukrainian Peace Committee, the concert is part of a global tour recognising international support for Ukraine, with a particular focus on the United Kingdom.

The heart of this event lies in the performance of the Veryovka Ukrainian Folk Choir, a legendary ensemble carrying the weight of Ukrainian musical heritage within their voices. Founded in 1943 by composer and conductor Hryhoriy Veryovka, the choir has spent over 80 years preserving and promoting Ukrainian folk traditions. Its performances blend choral singing, an orchestra of traditional instruments, and folk dance, offering a comprehensive representation of Ukraine’s cultural heritage. Having performed in more than 60 countries, including at official state ceremonies, the ensemble remains a key ambassador for Ukrainian music on the international stage.

The programme will feature traditional polyphonic singing, Cossack songs, choral works by Ukrainian composers, and folk dance performances. The event will incorporate modern multimedia elements, presenting Ukraine’s cultural identity through music and movement.

Guest appearances will include Eurovision winner Jamala, and singer/songwriter Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, alongside individuals directly affected by the war, such as returning soldiers and war veterans.

Taking place on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion, the event holds additional significance. It also serves a crucial humanitarian purpose, raising funds for the Superhumans Rehabilitation Centre, which provides vital prosthetic treatment and rehabilitation services for Ukrainians injured in the war.
