Daily Discvoery: Prince Fatty – Smells Like Teen Spirit feat Little Roy, Hollie Cook & Soothsayers Horns

Prince Fatty‘s latest single, “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” revisits Nirvana’s iconic track in a 7″ vinyl format, featuring two distinct version.

The A side delivers an instrumental version characterised by the ska influences of London’s Soothsayers horn section, with Robin Hopcraft and Idris Rahman contributing vibrant brass and rhythmic beats.

The B side offers a reggae interpretation with vocals from Jamaican legendary vocalist Little Roy and London-based singer and keyboardist Hollie Cook, providing a deeper, melodic contrast to the energetic instrumentation of the A side. George Dekker also features on backing vocals, enhancing the reggae ambiance.

This record, produced at Prince Fatty’s studio above the Fox & Firkin in Lewisham, South London, showcases a fusion of ska and reggae elements, presenting a creative reinterpretation of a grunge classic.
