Zy The Way, a jazz ensemble from Taiwan, creatively blends ancient Chinese poetry from the Classic of Poetry, also known as the Shijing or Book of Songs, with contemporary jazz and traditional sounds. Compiled by Confucius, this collection is one of the earliest and most significant anthologies of Chinese poems and songs.
“Ten Acres 十畝之間,” the lead single from their highly anticipated debut full-length album, presents a refreshing perspective through a woman’s voice, which is rarely represented in ancient Chinese texts. It illuminates the significant contributions of women to ancient society while capturing the harmonious tranquility of rural life.
