To say that there was struggle around this Take Away Show would be an understatement. A rare instrument – a Qanûn – which did not get on the plane, only a few hours to find one in Paris, a demonstration outside the band’s hotel and no cab to get them to the shoot, an icy cold that froze the hands of the percussionist… The list goes on! Once Zarina and her ensemble started playing we forgot it all, lighten up by their Balkan melodies. And Paris soon got even brighter!”
