Daily Discovery: The Ellameno Beat – Could You Be Mine

The Ellameno Beat lay down a crisp, unhurried take on lover’s rock with “Could You Be Mine”, a track rooted in their shared history and guided by feeling. Formed by lifelong friends Reggie Froom, Walker Brantingham and James Rosenblit, the Florida trio draw on years of rhythmic connection to deliver something understated and direct.

The single pays tribute to Jamaican singer and producer Sugar Minott — a key figure in reggae’s transition from roots to dancehall, and one of the early architects of lover’s rock. Built on a steady skank, warm bassline and laid-back vocal phrasing, “Could You Be Mine” channels his melodic clarity and emotional warmth without leaning on imitation.

The arrangement stays minimal: keys, guitar and percussion, leaving space for groove and feel to take the lead. The trio points toward a refined and rooted path forward, one built on foundation sounds and lifelong connection.

“Could You Be Mine” marks the next phase in their ongoing Cycles project. Following earlier singles “Cool Off” and “Break Through,” the single coincides with a Florida tour that began with the album launch on 25 July.
