Réunion Island’s rising star Sika Rlion presents “Valèr”, her new single taken from her forthcoming album Endemik, due for release on 25 April. “Valèr”, meaning “value” in Réunion Creole, is a roots reggae composition that reflects on the foundational principles shaping individual identity and humanity. Sika Rlion emphasises the influence of personal experiences and relationships in forming one’s values, stating that our interactions and environments contribute significantly to our personal growth and sense of self.

The track, composed by Hervé Castelnau, showcases Sika Rlion’s distinctive fusion of styles, incorporating elements of trap, R&B, maloya, and dancehall. This eclectic blend highlights her commitment to representing the diverse musical heritage of her island.
