Show Dem Camp, a powerhouse in Nigerian afrobeats and hip-hop, has released their new album No Love In Lagos, featuring the single “Buga”.
This album marks a fresh collaboration with the neo-Igbo highlife/folk duo The Cavemen, guitarist Nsikak David, and singer Tim Lyre, blending afrobeats, traditional highlife, and Afro-pop influences. No Love In Lagos represents a departure from Show Dem Camp’s established Palm Wine Music and Clone Wars series, as they explore new musical directions.
The Cavemen infuse the project with their signature highlife sound, while Nsikak David adds layers of depth through his skilled guitar work. Tim Lyre, known for his smooth mix of afrobeats, R&B, and soulful melodies, contributes his unique vocal style, further enriching the track. Together, they craft a vibrant and dynamic sound that captures the essence of Lagos’s rich cultural landscape.
Tec from Show Dem Camp highlighted the significance of collaboration in the Afrobeats scene, stating, “Collaboration can move your music into a different space. It’s interesting to see what happens when artists with different styles come together.”
