Saf Feh, a Franco-Algerian Afro-groove quintet from Sète, France, weaves together Maghrebian and West African rhythms with influences from soul, rock, hip-hop, blues and funk. Led by Sabrina Kerfah’s expressive vocals, the band merges gnawa and raï traditions with far-reaching sounds, crafting a bold and vibrant fusion of styles.
Their latest single, “Ellil,” released on 25 October, captures the raw, fearless spirit of the inner child. Sung in both Arabic and French, “Ellil” builds on the success of their debut EP, Rassy DOR (2022), continuing Saf Feh’s journey into a distinctive, multicultural Pan-African-groove.
The group’s sound is a collaboration of Sabrina’s heartfelt vocals, Andy Cancre’s soulful African blues guitar, Emilien Gindrat’s jazz-inspired rhythms, and Guilhem Vienot’s bass grooves rooted in funk and blues.
