Daily Discovery: Ras Rabbi x Rafat Ampadu – Keep On Groovin’

Ras Rabbi and Rafat Ampadu come together on “Keep On Groovin'”, a roots and conscious reggae single released on 30 January. Built on classic reggae rhythm and a shared vocal lead, the song turns on simple instructions to stay grounded, keep moving and hold on to each other, and it already has television and radio rotation confirmed in Uganda.

Rafat Ampadu was born in Tema Community Two in Accra and now lives in Enköping in Sweden, working as MC for Rumblin’ Bamboo sound system and as part of the Bewarehouse crew. From Östra Jämtland, Ras Rabbi calls his work rotmusik from the local forests, shaped by Jamaican 1970s and 80s reggae patterns and years spent with Norrlänningar Med Attityd, Liberation Force Rockas, East African Records and festival sets at Nyege Nyege, Storsjöyran and Mylthsylth

“Keep On Groovin'” links that Swedish rotmusik line with Ghanaian roots, wider Afro-roots reggae and Caribbean traditions in a single cut made for sound systems.
