“The Golden Temple Revelation” is the first single extracted from Snake Island, the new album by Or Kantor on Anova Music, featuring jazz trumpeter Sefi Zisling. London based, Kantor spent more than twenty years at his Love Light tattoo studio and developing his visual art practice before moving into recording, after Johnny Sharoni of Garden City Movement heard his demos during a tattoo session and offered him a deal with Anova.

Conceived as “a soundtrack to a fictional film that disappeared from the world”, Snake Island began as a tragic love story imagined during Kantor’s time on a remote island in the Cyclades.

Following his 2024 debut Sarda Sarda, which reached BBC Radio 6 Music, he describes the new record as “Subterranean music”: Mediterranean ballads, desert blues and spiritual jazz with reference points in Gábor Szabó, Omar Khorshid and Tommy Guerrero.
