On “Home or Abroad”, Italian reggae duo Mellow Mood link up with Jamaican stalwart Anthony B and French veterans Dub Inc for a cross-continental collaboration that speaks to unity beyond borders. Built around a stripped-back riddim — all steady drums, earthy basslines, and spacious keys — the track creates space for five vocalists to trade verses with clarity and conviction.

Released via La Tempesta Dub, the single previewed Mellow Mood’s seventh album, 7, which dropped on 11 April. The production is minimal by design, drawing attention away from polish and back onto purpose: wherever you are, the core message holds — resistance, roots, and staying grounded.

The vocal rotation flows naturally, shifting between melodic phrasing and raggamuffin delivery, with Anthony B’s firebrand energy sitting comfortably alongside the laid-back style of Dub Inc’s Bouchkour and Hakim, and the twin voices of Mellow Mood’s Garzia brothers. Lyrically, the song pushes back against superficial narratives and emphasises continuity: a through-line in Mellow Mood’s output since their debut.

Mixed by Paolo Baldini and mastered by Nick Manasseh, “Home or Abroad” is lean and self-assured, driven by stripped-back production, strong vocal interplay, and a clear sense of purpose. Every element feels deliberate, with nothing getting in the way of what matters.
