Marcelo D2 has just launched his new single “P O V O . IN . F É”, which paves the way to his upcoming album Iboru

Both single and LP are a tribute to what is both ancestral and contemporary bringing together Afro-Brazilian history with the legacy of the ancestors, and the family bond, whether it be related by blood or not.

Stylistically, “P O V O . IN . F É” unites samba with hop-hop, funk and electronic arrangements. So much so, Marcelo D2 defines its sound as “digital Afro-samba”. The song was written by the carioca MC in collaboration with composer and historian Luiz Antonio Simas and enjoys the production of Pedro Garcia and participation of Kiko Dinucci (guitar), Rodrigo Campos (cavaquinho), Marcelinho Moreira and Zero (percussions) and the Matriarchs of Samba (choir).
