“Still Hides You” marks a new chapter for Yekaterinburg-based band Lollypop Lorry, pushing beyond traditional Jamaican reggae into a modern, synth-driven sound with dub influences. Produced in collaboration with London’s General Roots and Andrés Lopez from The Wailers, the track layers introspective melodies over an atmospheric groove that conveys a sense of longing and introspection.
The lyrics, set against a “purple honey sky,” capture the narrator’s search for someone elusive, creating a mood of quiet reflection and bittersweet yearning.
Rooted in ska and reggae, Lollypop Lorry has cultivated a loyal following with 11 singles and three LPs. After touring extensively across Russia and Mexico, the band recently released a new album, Stick By Me, reimagining the spirit of 60s Jamaican music with a fresh, contemporary twist.
