Dutch band Liquid Sun Orchestra, rooted in Rotterdam and Leiden, channels the energy of afrobeat fused with elements of jazz, funk, and soul. Inspired by Nigerian legend Fela Kuti, their music features complex polyrhythms, bold brass arrangements, and infectious grooves.

Their latest single, “Bushman” (released in May 2024 via Audiomaze), layers African-inspired beats with precise horn harmonies and lyrics that address pressing social themes. Active since 2016, the band has built a reputation for powerful live performances at festivals like Zwarte Cross and Gentse Feesten, captivating audiences with their energetic, tightly orchestrated sound.

Comprising musicians from a range of cultural and generational backgrounds, Liquid Sun Orchestra blends global influences while staying true to afrobeat core. Their forthcoming EP is set to bring even more dynamic and infectious rhythms to their repertoire.
