Lina Simons is an Italian-Nigerian rapper and singer/songwriter, known for blending hip-hop, rap, and R&B with Neapolitan, Italian, and English lyrics. Born in Pozzuoli and now based in London, she uses her music to tackle themes like identity, racism, and self-worth.
Her new single, “Nun Sparti’ A Furtun”, released on the 30th August, is a bold track about trust, isolation, and the pressure to succeed. The song, produced by Gransta MSV, mixes Neapolitan and Italian to drive home the message that success shouldn’t be shared with those who don’t deserve it.
Reflecting on the song, Lina explains: “In ‘Nun Sparti’ A Furtun,’ I talk about trust, solitude, and the pressure of always needing to feel accomplished. I explore the challenges we face and the expectations we struggle to meet while trying to find our place in the world. For me, despite difficult moments and the constant comparisons with others, it’s essential to keep moving forward. I wrote the song spontaneously in Neapolitan and Italian to best express all of this.”
The single, following her debut album P.A.S., continues her socially conscious musical journey and can be streamed HERE
