La Brígida Orquesta has released their new EP, Canciones Sepia, just ahead of a nationwide tour in Chile. Produced by Gabo Paillao, the EP features four tracks, including a notable collaboration with Ana Tijoux on “Acaecer.” This release highlights the band’s evolving sound, marked by autumnal tones, introspective lyrics, and their signature wind arrangements, further enriched by a string quartet, adding a cinematic depth to the music.
Formed in 2017, La Brígida Orquesta has become a prominent force in Chile’s music scene, recognised for their experimental approach and powerful live performances. The current lineup includes Ítalo Viveros, Fernando Carvacho, Alfredo Tauber, Alejandro Allaria, Edward Neidhardt, Matías Aravena, Pablo Jara, Felipe Salas, Tomás Alud, Gabo Paillao, and Matiah Chinaski.
Their music combines jazz improvisation, classical orchestration, and the energetic rhythms of hip-hop. The arrangements are intricate, with layers of horns, strings, and percussion that dynamically interact with Matiah Chinaski’s poetic lyrics.
