Lyon-based musician and producer David Kiledjian, known for his work with acts like Dowdelin, Vaudou Game, and Tigran Hamasyan, released his first solo project, The Otium Mixtape back in January. The album, out via Underdog Records, blends laid-back, jazz-infused hip-hop with soulful vocals and global electronic influences.
Inspired by the ancient Roman concept of “Otium,” meaning active idleness, the ten-track album explores themes of personal time and space. Kiledjian’s diverse musical background shines through, with features from Cindy Pooch, Celia Wa, and Macha Gharibian, alongside explorations of Mandinka music with Sako Wana.
