KAVOS is a modern jazz ensemble from Canberra, Australia that infuses Greek rebetika music into jazz fusion sounds.
Their latest album, Pirates of Piraeus, features original tracks that draw inspiration from the rhythms, melodies, and spirit of Greek music. Their music is the brainchild of Canberran musicologist Constantine Campbell, who wanted to explore his Greek heritage by fusing jazz with his cultural roots.
The band is formed by talented musicians, including Lachlan Coventry on bouzouki, Llewellyn Osbourne on violin and keyboard, Christopher Pound on double bass, Nick McBride on drums and vocals, and Campbell on saxophones and vocals.
