Isaackito and Charel return with “Parte De Mem”, a collaborative track featuring Brazilian vocalist Julia Estevão, taken from their upcoming album Studio Mobile Bahia 2025. Recorded during a month-long residency on the island of Itaparica in February 2025, the project brings together fifteen tracks shaped by encounters with fifteen local artists, reflecting a cross-section of contemporary music rooted in Bahia.
“Parte De Mem” is built around acoustic guitar, Rhodes piano and trombone, with a slow rhythm that sits between MPB and ambient soul. Julia Estevão’s vocal is at the core: close, steady and direct. The arrangement stays minimal, leaving space for texture and detail. Luiz Gabriel Lopes and Hélio Flanders contribute guitar, bass, keys and backing vocals, grounding the track in a network of contemporary Lusophone music while keeping its focus rooted in Bahia.
The lyrics centre on longing and emotional exposure in the aftermath of separation. Saudade, desire and dependency run through the text, as the narrator asks for physical closeness and emotional presence. References to dendê add a regional layer, evoking sensuality through a distinctly Afro-Brazilian lens.
Isaackito, known as trombonist and producer with the French P-Funk collective Malka Family, has in recent years focused on mobile, site-based recording projects across Brazil, Réunion Island, and Andalusia. Charel, based in Bahia, works as a producer and MC, with a background in local collaboration and socially rooted music. Their work on Studio Mobile Bahia 2025 presents the album not just as a collection of tracks, but as a record of encounters—musical, geographical, and personal.
