Daily Discovery: Léa Mondo – Heights Of Love (Official Music Video)

Léa Mondo‘s story is one of diverse cultural influences and a passion for using music as a means of expression. Born in The Kongo, raised in Manchester, and now based in London where she formed her own band Léa and the Sunflowers, she draws inspiration from artists like Bob Marley, Franco Luambo, Oumour Sangare, and Fatoumata Diawara. Her music often tackles important topics such as politics, mental health, and love.

Léa’s sound is a fusion of African rhythms, soul, high life, bossa nova, jazz, and reggae, and her lyrics largely focus on themes of life, love, peace, and freedom while also reflecting on the state of the world. In 2021, she co-founded Peng Femme Jam in 2021 and has shared stages with Dele Sosimi and London Afrobeat Collective, also performing at Wilderness fest.

Check out Léa’s single, “Heights of Love“, and watch for her upcoming debut, Mwana Mboka, a 4-track EP sung in Lingala and English encouraging Africans and the global community to unite and make positive changes.
