Havana Meets Kingston originated in 2014 when Australian producer Jake Savona first envisioned blending the sounds of Jamaica and Cuba. In subsequent trips, he teamed up with renowned reggae musicians, including Sly & Robbie, recording material in Havana’s iconic EGREM Studio. The result was their first album in 2017, celebrated worldwide.

The project made history with joint tours, culminating in a performance at the Royal Albert Hall for the BBC Proms, which was captured and can now be enjoyed as the inaugural live album of Havana Meets Kingston. This remarkable night, described by Savona as filled with zen-like calm and focus, left a lasting memory for all involved.

Havana Meets Kingston continued global touring in 2019 and 2020, and released a sequel album, Havana Meets Kingston Part 2, featuring a remarkable 62 musicians from both islands. Additionally, a dub companion album, Havana Meets Kingston In Dub, was produced by Mista Savona and GAUDI.
