Fatoumata Diawara is gearing up for the release of her new album London Ko on May 12 releasing the first single titled “Massa Den” on April 24 featuring French rock singer-songwriter and guitar player -M- (Matthieu Chedid).

The album, titled after a neologism coined by Diawara (uniting London with Bamako) representing an imagined continent bringing Europe and Africa together, blends traditional African styles like Mandinka and Wassolou with afrobeat, jazz, pop, electronica, and hip-hop, and features collaborations with Damon Albarn (who also co-produced it) Yemi Alade, Angie Stone, M.anifest, Roberto Fonseca, and -M-.

To support the album, she will be performing in the US and Europe starting in late-April.
