Fat Freddy’s Drop releases their first single, “Next Stop,” from the upcoming album SLO MO, out on the 8th of November. The track is a soulful, uplifting anthem featuring MC Slave’s dancehall-infused verse.
Described by their beatmaker Fitchie as “Afro-rhythmic soul music, an exploration of Black music from Polynesia,” the album blends their signature bass-heavy sound with Afro-inspired rhythms and electronic elements. Recorded in their BAYS studio in Wellington, SLO MO captures the energy and dynamism of their live performances across nine tracks.
Ahead of its release, the album will drop on double vinyl in October. Fat Freddy’s Drop will also embark on a European and UK tour in November and December, with Australasian dates to follow.
