Etran de L’Aïr, the renowned band from Agadez, has just released “Ighre Massina,” the first single from their upcoming album 100% Sahara Guitar, set to drop on the 4th of September via Sahel Sounds.

Known for their deep roots in the musical traditions of the Aïr region, in northern Niger, the family band, comprising brothers Moussa, Abdoulaye, and Abdourahamane, along with their friend Alghabid, continues to blend traditional Saharan tunes with contemporary guitar rhythms.

“Ighre Massina” captures the essence of Etran de L’Aïr’s unique style, featuring hypnotic guitar solos layered with rhythmic, reverb-drenched melodies. This release sets the tone for the rest of the album, which enriches the traditional Agadez guitar music with a modern twist, creating a full-bodied sound experience.

The album  is anticipated to not only pay homage to Agadez’s rich musical landscape but also to showcase Etran de L’Aïr’s evolution as musicians capable of reaching a global audience
