Nigerian-born, Italian-based musician Charles Onyeabor has released his latest single, “The Future of Africa,” from his new album Onyekachi. This reggae-inspired track emphasises Africa’s potential and calls for unity, visionary leadership, and economic independence. Through its uplifting beats, Onyeabor envisions a future where Africa takes a leading role globally, transitioning from an importer to an exporter of goods. In an open letter to Africans, Onyeabor highlights the continent’s untapped creativity, cultural diversity, and natural beauty.

As the son of legendary Nigerian musician William Onyeabor, Charles was deeply influenced by his father’s music. His debut album, Like Father Like Son, honoured that legacy while establishing his unique blend of afrobeats and reggae. With Onyekachi, and tracks like “The Future of Africa,” Onyeabor continues to use his music as a platform for social change and a brighter African future.
