Brazilian singer, songwriter and guitarist André Araújo continues to shape his voice with “Pensei”, released on 30 April. Originally from São Luís, Maranhão and now based in São Paulo, Araújo draws from classic bossa nova and samba, using stripped-down arrangements that place emphasis on songwriting and mood.
“Pensei” is his second solo release, arriving just weeks after his debut “Ultravioleta”. The track foregrounds his soft vocal delivery and understated acoustic guitar, carried by percussion that hints at samba but stays light and controlled. There’s a clear intent to keep the production close to the song’s origin—reflecting how it was written, rather than dressing it up.
Having previously worked as a guitarist with other artists, Araújo steps forward here as a composer and lyricist, aiming to present a sound that reflects his identity as a contemporary Brazilian songwriter. The track offers a quiet but confident portrait of an artist carving out space within the country’s long lineage of acoustic and voice-driven music.
“Pensei” is available now on all major streaming platforms
