Daily Discovery: Alais Clay – Vibe

Vibe,” taken from Alais Clay‘s latest EP Planeta Flow, finds the Colombian-born, Miami-raised artist in a reflective, more introspective and focused mode. It’s a laid-back, meditative track that blends dub, hip-hop, Latin rhythm, and ambient textures—carried more by flow than force. Known for her socially conscious lyrics and bilingual delivery, Clay steps back here, allowing mood, rhythm, and subtlety to take centre stage.

Now based between Costa Rica and Colorado, she’s spent years developing a style that moves fluidly between underground hip-hop, indigenous percussion, and spoken word. Her work bridges multiple worlds: Spanish and English, digital production and organic rhythm, political urgency and spiritual reflection. “Vibe” follows that path but pares it down to its essentials.

Earlier albums like End of an Era and Elevated Frequencies leaned into activism and featured collaborations with artists like Immortal Technique, KRS-One, and Ziggy Marley. This track, by contrast, feels personal and grounded. There’s space, breath, and a sense of clarity. The production is sparse but textured, creating space for the track to unfold on its own terms. “Vibe” draws you in gently and keeps you grounded.
